Project Manager - Oil & Gas Divison (PM - 2011)

Job Description: Project Manager – Oil & Gas Division

An ambitious fast growing Oilfield service company are currently seeking a Project Manager to compliment our Team due to continued growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
  • Effectively applies company methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Review and amend quality assurance procedures as and when required.
  • Minimizes company exposure and risk on individual projects.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, up to date for company records and then handed onto to client within the specified deadlines

Project Accounting

  • Manages project budget.
  • Ensures timely and accurate invoicing with the client, and monitors receivables for project.
  • Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Analyses project profitability, revenue, margins.

Financial Management

  • Understands P/L and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Understands our pricing model and put forward quotes and billing procedures.
  • Accurately within reason forecasts revenue, profitability, margins..
  • Assures project legal documents are completed and signed in liaison with the finance manager.

Business Development

  • Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as and when they relate to a project which is a potential or already secured one and relay this information back to the business development manager and  the projects director.
  • Effectively conveys our company message to potential clients in both written and verbal business development discussions that you may be involved in.

Communication

  • Holds regular project meetings with project team and complies weekly report for the Projects director.
  • Keeps the project team motivated and well informed of changes within the organization
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to colleagues and the Projects  Director
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

Technical Understanding

  • Possesses general understanding in the products that we supply. – Not necessary but would be beneficial, training will be provided.
  • Understands the Internet, Proficient in windows, Microsoft office applications (word, excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat
  • Delivers informative and -organized presentations to your colleagues regarding products.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential how it would be  beneficial to the company

  • Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Manages the development of team by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each individuals career interest
  • Inspires co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence.

  • Manages day-to-day client/ partner interaction.
  • Sets and manages client expectations.
  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that nurture client ties.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and partners  to identify needs and evaluate alternative product solutions when necessary
  • Seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Build a knowledge base of manufacturers strengths, products and capabilities

Internal Operations

  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Liaise with the finance department and other divisions of the company  regarding project financials and when you have a crosser in relation to the scope of work in hand
